So here we go in the Doyle Cup.

Yesterday was a great result, if we back it up on Saturday and keep our loanees, give us the trophy.
Yeah, I'm bullish, what of it?

Interestingly Exeter and Crewe were due to meet on Sat, but Crewe are still in the cup, so we'll stay top whatever.

Less interestingly Exeter have a game v Ipswich in the Boycott on Sat

A Bradford win would put them right up our arses however, so in the circumstances a draw would be OK

This is, as donkey says, all about Doyle. We need Bradford to stay in touch with the promotion places so they feel they're OK without Doyle; if they beat us, they might feel "Aha if we take Doyle back, that will knacker them so giving us a better shout". So has to be a draw really, then hope Bradford continue to do well throughout January, or until they sell Doyle to us, then their form can go out the window.

0-0, 8250 with 980 away fans.

Don't think we'll see too many changes from yesterday, and it's officially Grant's last game, for now. Would expect Doughty for Rose and Woolery for the Doyle, with Yates through the middle.

Benda

Caddis
Grant
Fryers
Hunt

Lyden
Doughty

Woolery
DJ
Isgrove

Yates

Avoid defeat, move on. This will be a general theme for big games this month.

With Doyle celebrating the goals like a nutter in the Town End?

Don't particularly want anyone to do the double over us, so staying unbeaten in the next 5 games is good challenge.
We weren't at our best in any of the first games against this months opponents so an opportunity to put that right.

Thought that going through a season without being beaten twice by the same opponent would be quite difficult, but we've managed to do it in 5 of our promotion seasons 68-69, 85-86, 86-87, 95-96, 06-07 (if my bleary eyed checking is correct).

I have to admit I'm looking forward to the Crewe game rather than this one. 1-1, which I'll take with our patched up squad.

Wierd comment on the Bradford forum matchday thread vs Swindon, I think its somebody assuming things.

And Power won't not pay more to keep Doyle at Swindon and guarantee promotion, rather strange don't you think ?.
