Such a tough game against the most in-form side in the league currently. Home sell out, injury crisis.... Anything here will be a miracle.

Personally would do anything but play Grant at CB - assuming we have no reinforcements (i.e. Donohue), I'd play Curran alongside Zakuani and change the way we play. Don't rely on the CBs to start our patterns, go a little longer and dominate the midfield with Grant, Lyden and Doughty.

I think RW will actually go with Grant at CB, though, and then Rose and Lyden.

Also swap Isgrove for Woolery.

Benda

Hunt
Curran
Zakuani
Caddis

Grant
Lyden

Isgrove
Doughty
Yates

Doyle

If Donohue is back, play Cads at CB.

Curran played alongside Zakuani in the 3-0 pointless trophy match against these so I really wouldn’t do that. Grant at centre back is the only option I see unfortunately and with Lyden and Rose available we have much better cover for Grant than we do in central defence.

Although I do agree with PP, it'll be Grant back there with Zakuani.

I don't think Wellens will risk it with Curran and I think the majority wouldn't argue with that.

Adver says out for another couple of weeks, alongside Fryers.

I think the fact that Haines has been recalled yet Romanski has not tells us he won't be at Swindon next season.

With our defensive problems I would have thought that Romanski might be called back, that being said a good friend of mine was at the recent Highworth v Melksham game and said that he just did not look the part. Guess he will see his contract out and then apparently head for a University place which was on the cards back in the summer.

I watched the Vale game on iFollow as against the normal Wiltshire sound programme which entails first half listening at home, second over the pub. Shall revert to form tomorrow and trust we can come away with a result.

Thinking about it Grant has to play centre back, we need someone that can run with the bail out of defence like Baudry and Fryers, it’s a key component of how we play. A young lad on their full league debut isn’t going to do that so there is only one option to be honest.

agree there, though loathed to lose Grant from the middle I don't see much choice

Cheltenham away in the cup we dominated without Grant in midfield, imagine tomorrow’s game will be the same midfield as that apart from maybe Isgrove rather than DJ so I do have some hope.

I'd go with:

Benda
Caddis
Grant
Zakuani
Hunt
Lyden
Rose
Doughty
Isgrove
Yates
Doyle

but I think Woolery will stay in and Rose on the bench.

Either way, they are still pretty good teams, and Grant was more than capable at centre back.  Plus we also looked good pre-Grant in midfield when Lyden was at his best earlier in the season.

We still did more than enough to get a result against Port Vale on another day, only really Newport and Colchester have had our number this season.
