Balls irrelevant you can still get a red these days, he was out of control and high. It’s endangering the opponent at the very least.

I've tried to freeze cream as close to the kick as I can to illustrate my point. He's not dived in as per the end position may seem.

If anything Iandolo’s ankle ends up under the players foot if that makes sense.

But the fact is when he makes contact with Iandolo’s ankle both his feet are off the ground. You can’t tackle with both for feet off the ground anymore, in this day and age it is a red in my opinion.

Looking at that photo, it appears that the ball is behind his foot.

Looked a suspect challenge at the time.
By today's standards (endangering an opponent etc), 9 times out 10 that's a red card, apart from Sunday unfortunately.

Get well soon Ian, I guess. It's a strange one with Ian; he has ability going forward and would be a great winger/LM/LWB. His defensive traits still require an element of back-up/hand-holding. Essentially, he's a luxury player in the kind of Anthony McNamee mould. Except young Ian blows more cold than hot.

It's a shame because I like him. Had he not got injured/we had more left sided options, I would've transfer listed him. He could flourish played in his very fixed role. A manager who manages to find his almost niche position would have a good player. I fear time is running out for him here and he may now have played his last game, for Town. If we go up, I would sell/release.

Did you actually read what I put? "Had he NOT got INJURED,...I would've transfer listed him." Key word being NOT. Referring to transfer listing him in this January window.

Then with regards a broken leg, we don't know the extent or if he even has yet but you recover from a bone break/fracture much quicker than a muscle/ligament tear a la Conroy. Seem to remember from some training I did a while back (it may be outdated but unlikely), a fracture takes about 6 weeks, an actual break is about double that. Depends on severity and individual (we all heal at different rates) but even if Ian has the latter then he could be training again by April.

I'll say it again; had he NOT got injured/we didn't have limited left sided options, I would've transfer listed him in this window. If we go up, I would sell/release him (don't know his contract situation) in the Summer.
