Howdy,

Out of interest, I'd like to see some 'Underrated XI' suggestions for those who did a job and are perhaps.not recognised for it.

Just an XI, no subs required. Feel free to nominate a manager though!

Cheers

Michael Smith would be up front as our fans never really warmed to him but he scored a fair few.

McGovern, LJF, McEveley, Devera and Andy Williams are others off the top of my head that were better than they were given credit for.

Well that was a struggle. Bearing in mind the serial underachievement of the last decade, anyone half-decent should have had their chance. Here are a few I think we could have used more, or who showed after they left that they were better than we got out of them. It's an 11, not a side:

Henry

Kennedy
Jean-François
Devera
Cibocchi

Brophy
Esajas
K Jackson
Robert

da Vita
Mullin

Manager: Ward/Miller

David Lucas

Stephen Darby
Scott Cuthbert
Gordon Greer
Jay McEveley

JP McGovern
Jonathan Douglas
Louis Thompson
Keshi Anderson

Michael Smith
James Collins

Wait, that's a pretty decent side. Was that the point? Have I just made a reserve team of the decade?

Underrated is a nebulous concept. Underrated by whom?  Oneself? Other TEF users?  Football in general?

My understanding of "underrated" are players who I believe deserved more credit than they got, so here goes:

1) Phil Smith
2) Scott Cuthbert
3) Kevin Amankwaah
4) Joe Devera
5) Tom Smith
6) Michael Timlin
7) Raffaele De Vita
8} Jonathan Smith
9) Billy Bodin
10) Alan Connell
11) Ellis Iandolo

Tom Smith is a rogue choice, he was a Facebook "answer to all our problems" for a bit who is now showing us what we're missing by turning out for Bath City.

Jonathan Smith is a good one though, I'd forgotten he existed but he was quite good (having a very generic name probably doesn't help.

I would have thought Jack Stephens name would have cropped up more in the ‘best XI’ lists. Same too Andy Williams who must have got near 20 goals in two different play off campaigns (not sure of the exact stats but he did alright in 2012/13 and 2014/15)

This is going to be an awkward one for you, but I believe it is your individual opinion we are looking for here. Beyond that, your criteria of choice are your own. Go to it Smeeton. Contract

To quote myself, looking back at the stats Williams only got 11 in 2012/13, then 21 in 2014/15

Still, 32 league goals would put him at top scorer for this decade wouldn’t it??
