You just vaguely worry who Lincoln will look to next...
Ainsworth, Taylor and Flynn have all turned them down apparently.

Yeah I think its a standard thing now with loans that a player cannot play against his parent club, in South America IIRC there was a case of match fixing when a loan player scored an OG so his parent team won the match, several years back. So it does makes sense.

Christian Roberts signed for Swindon from Bristol City and they inserted a clause in the transfer that Roberts was not allowed to play against them that season even though his wasn't a loan, probably wouldn't get away with that now.

Probably come under restraint of trade or anti competition laws?

It wouldn't be allowed now, but 15 years ago there was probably little like that to stop it.

Ainsworth, Taylor and Flynn have all turned them down apparently.

They'll be upset at being turned down by managers from teams who can't get half their attendance.

The circle is tightening. He must be somewhere on their shopping list. If approached, you'd hope Wellens would take four things into account:
1) He's only just beginning to see results from a project he started building a year back
2) He'd have a big job on his hands to turn their bullying bruteball into sexy Wellensball
3) Even if it's oop north, Lincoln really is the arse end of nowhere
4) With similar success, we'll get equal or bigger crowds to them

Right?  Sad

Well, that and the fact he’s already turned down Donny who had previous ties with, citing loyalty. There’s something happening at SN1.

That's encouraging. They can have Embleton, by the sounds of it.

Wellens will be here until the end of this season at least. Out of loyalty as he has already said but also to get a League 2 promotion on his CV.

Off on a train of thought here, but wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up at Salford next summer. Back up north, big money and another League 2 promotion on his CV. 2 promotions would guarantee him a long managerial career which didn’t look so likely a year ago.

Not sure Taylor turned them down, Exeter refused permission to allow them to speak to him.  He was probably told of their interest and told Exeter to tell them no.

Exeter City manager Matt Taylor has reaffirmed his commitment to the club, following an approach from an unnamed club.

The request was made to speak to Matt late on Saturday and this was passed on to him.

Chairman Julian Tagg, said today that Matt had turned down the request.
