BUT with a transfer you're not allowed to put the clause in any more, a la Christian Roberts. Once the player's gone you have no say when they can and can't play.
TBF it was very unusual back then too, I had not heard of it before or since but STFC didn't seem to be overly concerned by that clause, always seemed a bit weird.

Another Bradford loan player, Hanson, won player of the month. They must be right royally pissed off with it.

Ex Bradford, he signed a 2 year contract with Grims after leaving AFC Wimbledon in the Summer.

I was having a look at home attendances for last couple of years which make good reading.

2017/18 home average 6,436 average home support 6,243

2018/19 home average 6,390 average home support 6,125

2019/20 home average 7,039 average home support 6,826 so far

So thats an average gate rise of 9% and a home crowd rise of 11% so far on last season.

Carlisle Utd   att: 7,024 with 298 away fans makes 6,726 home fans
Northampton att: 7,203 with 345 away fans makes 6,858 home fans
Morecambe   att: 6,873 with  83 away fans makes 6,790 home fans
Macclesfield  att: 7,055 with 124 away fans makes 6,931 home fans

Be nice to break that 7,000 home supporters again.

The fans are definately coming back.

A colchester fans preview of tonights game.

https://aviewfroms2.blogspot.com/2019/09/preview-what-can-we-expect-from-swindon.html

Quote
Colchester came out on top the last time the two sides met in the Carabao Cup, but what can we expect this time 'round?

Last Season
Swindon had a mixed 2018/19 campaign. They started the season with Phil Brown in charge before relieving him of his duties and appointing Richie Wellens, with the club performing well below expectations. Wellens steadied the ship, leading the side to a 13th place finish. Goals proved to be a problem all season as Michael Doughty top scored with 6 and the club only scored 59 in total. Since then, the club have looked considerably stronger.

Manager
39-year-old Wellens only took charge at Swindon in November of last year, but since then has improved the playing style and results. Despite only managing Oldham Athletic before taking the reins at the County Ground, Wellens has amassed a win percentage of 38% from the 39 games he’s managed, interestingly John McGreal’s win percentage is identical albeit after managing 162 matches. The former Manchester United youngster recently boasted of having Sir Alex Ferguson to advise him. He certainly seems like a man on the up.

Swindon has had a very positive campaign thus far, and currently sits in 2nd place. It would appear Colchester’s 3-0 home win against the Reds in the Carabao Cup was a minor hiccup. In the first 8 league games they have shown to be a real force, winning 5, drawing 2 and losing 1, simply put, they are looking streets ahead of ColU. Against Macclesfield, on Saturday, they won 3-0 and were excellent value for the win.

The table below shows how Swindon has been most effective, by keeping hold of the ball but when the situation lends itself, shooting on sight. If you don’t shoot, you don’t score.

Formation
Wellens has favoured a 4-2-3-1 or most recently, 4-4-2 so far this season, similarly to ColU, unfortunately that is where the similarities end. They have predominantly played the ball down flank, 36% on the left and 36% on the right. The wingers on either side see a lot of the ball and aren’t afraid to cross.

Key Player
Where to start?
Striker Eoin Doyle has been signed on loan from Bradford City and since the switch he’s been red-hot. The Irishman has scored 7 goals in 6 games, wining 3 Man of the Match awards in the process. The Colchester centre-backs will need to be on-form to keep him contained.

On the wings, Keshi Anderson has scored 3 goals and assisted 2 from left-midfield. Additionally Lloyd Isgrove has 5 assists to his name from right-midfield. Keeping this pair quiet will prove difficult and in doing so will hamper the U’s full-backs attacking threat.

Prediction
It’s going to be a very challenging evening for the U’s, as it’ll be another long away trip to a first-class side. I can’t see a coupon-busting away win. Swindon 2 Colchester 1.

Up the U’s, Sam.

Interesting that a night game is our biggest attendance.

Biggest over all but not most home fans.

You've finally met your match for quality pre-match intel.

PV is better than having MD as last season's leading scorer with 6

Sort of matchday related, if Exeter win they stay top tonight, home against a Port Vale side with loads of injury problems....anyway...Matt Taylor turned down an approach yesterday from Lincoln City to be their new boss.

Could have done with some disruption down there TBH.

You just vaguely worry who Lincoln will look to next...
