He's so far dished out 12 yellows and 3 reds this season. He's only reffed 2 matches.

So that is now 12 yellows and 5 reds this season, still only reffing 2 games.  That surely is an eye opener for the refs association.

At half-time? I'd understand at the end of the game, but what happened in the first half to light the touchpaper?

I was thinking that as well. I presumed it was at the end of the game pre-empted by the Yates red card.

There didn't appear to be anything untoward disciplinary wise in the first half was there?

Anyway, i hope it was Sherwood-esque

Brakespear is a shocking ref - as the various posts highlighting his “cards record” indicate. My reading is he likes to be the “star of the show” rather than (as the best refs invariably are) hardly noticed during the game.
I’m not certain he is biased against us, despite the number of cards we have accrued in his games (although it has felt like that a couple of times). Don’t forget that we have had some disciplinary issues over the past few seasons, picking up a lot of cards and suspensions.
