We might have found ourselves a bit of a team here. Good performances all over the pitch. If anyone was less influential today, it was Doughty. Very encouraging.

Hunt looks a good steady full back, like that he can use both feet as well.

Fryers was very calm in possession.  Early days, but looks a big upgrade on recent left backs.

Baudry very assured.  With Broadbent in the squad we actually look quite well set-up at the back now.

Lyden seems like a very solid midfielder - puts his foot in, tracks back well when needed, keeps it simple.

Isgrove looks like a cross between Mullins and Igoe - buzzing around, tracking back, a threat going forward.

Yates came into the game as it stretched and Woolery and Anderson exploited them second half.

Overall we looked good today.  What makes me most satisfied is we didn't have a single player on the pitch who looked like a Div 4 Jobber, ala Dunne or many others who've rocked up in the past couple of seasons.  Plus, nobody looked physically out of it either.  An extra striker on top of that would have me a happy man.  Anderson can stick around if he can play like that - my worry is we've seen the odd game like this in past.  Maybe just keep him transfer listed all season.

Fuck sake, making us enjoy the first game, making us want Keshi to stay, what the hell has happened to this club! Why are we so optamistic now Mr Wellins! What have you done to us!

Yeah, we want our Swindon back.

Good start.

Let’s hope this not a false down.
Hopefully a debut goal will send Yates on a Parkin like run of form

What'll happen if the trialist we signed turns out to be good?  Sad

Which reminds we...

...we took Peter Brezovan on trial and he turned out to be good.
Phil Smith wasn’t bad either.

That was excellent and a great way to start the season. We won’t come across many center half partnerships that slow and ponderous surely but we looked quick and adventurous and agree with everything said about Conroy and Baudry, class act today

Great result in complete contradiction of my first (but not last) crap prediction of the season.

Early days of course, but very hopeful.
