Pretty sure he was in the video? Could be something minor but he seems the sort of player who is good around the team.l for guidance etc.

Yeah he was one of the first out

Disclaimer* This is preseason and means absolute fuck all:

We look spoilt for choice at CB. The two that started look decent and comfortable and that's without Conroy and Broadbent.

Yates was very quiet. Wooley was involved in the best chances- unlucky with a lot of blocked shots.

Doughty as per is a class above with his flicks and movement.

Isgrove- liked him a lot. Reminded me of a sammy Igoe in both looks and clever play. good goal as well. sign him up.

The last sub looked like a random dad had been pulled out the crowd.

Tyler Reid is a unit. Possibly filled with air and not muscle though but the way he was pushed off. not long enough on to make much impact.

Fryers looked good- overlapping pace will be a good asset.

No Conroy, no Keshi?

Still need that striker. speaking the obvious.

1st half all ball in their half. McCormac no saves.
2nd half all ball in ours but for counter attacks.

I know friendlies aren't competitive but bar the odd bad challenge didn't feel like much of a work out.

I have a feeling Keshi will be the sacrifice to free up some wages.

That's why we have another Anderson on trial, so Power can save on printing another shirt

Thought Yates did a lot of the hard yards for Woolery though, plenty of dropping deep to receive etc
Doughty as per is a class above with his flicks and movement.
Yup
Isgrove- liked him a lot. Reminded me of a sammy Igoe in both looks and clever play. good goal as well. sign him up.
ha ha I couldn't help thinking of Igoe too, but thought that was maybe just because he was a short-arse, glad someone else had the same thought!

That aside, thought we looked pretty decent. Although I worry that we looked a good side against a team that came to play, rather than a good League 2 side necessarily. Enjoyable evening all in all

Sorry i meant in terms of being the goalscorer we crave- if he is even that type of player. I dont think he had an effort on goal- definitely cant fault his work rate. Maybe that was his instructions today to play as a a kind of 10 and work off woolery and supply him. Would be good to see him have a chance in front of goal to see him tuck it away.

I enjoyed that game. Couldn’t tell who most of them were but Doughty put himself about, isgrove looked quality. The No2 is a bit fucking lump, wouldn’t want to take him on in an eating or drinking contest. Inspite of the changes I thought we looked better than I can think of for a few seasons at this stage.

Who was the random dad?

I have no idea- took me a while to piece together half the team. skinny unfootballer like legs, big mop of unfootballer like hair, ran around like a chicken and got booked for a lunge in a 10 minute cameo. definitely a trailist

edit* still not helpful but rules out other players.

Based on the adver lineup:

Swindon Town: Luke McCormick, Rob Hunt, Mathieu Baudry (Tyler Reid, 63’), Dan Ballard (Taylor Curran, 81’), Zeki Fryers (Tom Broadbent, 76’) , Michael Doughty (Trialist, 81’), Adam May (Jordan Lyden, 63’), Paul Anderson (Scott Twine, 76’), Lloyd Isgrove (Ellis Iandolo, 76’), Kaiyne Woolery (George Newell, 86’), Jerry Yates (Brandon Thomas-Asante, 76’).

Only 3 from last season in the starting eleven. Says a lot.

Recruitment has been good.
Can see an overall improvement in quality.
Remains to be seen if they can gel into that "whole is greater than the sum of its parts" type team that is needed to make top three.

Isgrove. Impressed with the way he tracked back. Yeah, Sammy Igoe.

Asante might be worth a punt. A couple of cameos and is different to what we already have. Gets in the right areas but finishing needs to improve.
