Perhaps they'll use it to highlight the role of the Salford Yeomanry in the Peterloo Massacre of August 1819.... or perhaps not.  Henry Hunt.... known as The Orator, was of course a Moonraker, being a son of Upavon.

Bit early to be drinking isn’t it?

Also not beyond the realms of possibility we will be top at that point too.

Of course it's possible.... however if you go by our recent record at Scunny and last season we get 3 points from those fixtures.  That's all.... it tells me these are difficult games and we'll need to be playing generally better than last season. Hopefully the case.

It's just the usual non-committal bollocks. He will dress it up into "told you so" if we are losing games, and distance himself totally from it if we are winning.

I really don't see the value in taking into account recent form against other teams, the nature of lower league squads is that they vary greatly from season to season.

The teams we put out vs. any of those teams will be very different to the teams we fielded last season, the same will go for them.

Our record at Scunny is totally irrelevant, not one player (I assume) who starts for us that day will have been involved in any of the previous 4 defeats

It’s a statistic that means absolutely nothing

All games are difficult, being top of the table by a country mile does not gaurentee three points at home to the bottom club. Looking back is all well and good, however, with a new manager and pretty much a new team, what has been does not equate to what will be. If it does you’ll be feasting on it all season, and next no doubt.

Try telling that to Cheltenham!

Not the same. We all know there's dark forces at work whenever we play Cheltenham.

Also a statistical anomaly, nothing to do with any mental issues players/management have with going to the place

Every club has a bogey team, though.

The main thing is Grimsby away in December. Again.  Thumb

Long journey on New Years day.

Midweek to Colchester at the end of Jan does not get the juices flowing.

After 46 games we could finish anywhere between 1st and 24th.

Of yeah of course but I don’t believe that any result is linked to what happened in the corresponding fixture in a previous season.

Each game is standalone, our chances of getting a result from that game this coming season isn’t affected in the slightest by our recent record there
