Harsh on Nath! Would have ran through brick walls for the club. Loved him at right back when he first started breaking through.

However a part of me will never forgive him for starting at Wembley. At fault for the first goal and injured in the process. 1 down and instant reshuffle at the back required 5 minutes into a play off final. Should never have played. Probably would have lost the game anyway as the style match up was all wrong for us. But it left a sour taste.

I don't think its fair to blame Thompson for the final, not exclusively anyway.

He'd surely trained and taken a fitness test, had scans and medical input before playing. He could have been covering up I suppose.

In any case the rest of the team were utter garbage regardless.

That final was probably the worst I'd seen a town team play, and I've seen my fair share of garbage over the years  Smiley

It was up there, 45 years of seeing some shit, that was up there in the bottom 3 for lack of heart, desire, skill and effort.

Unfair to blame just one person, it was utter drivel all over the pitch.

That season we ran out of steam and teams figured out how to beat us, the home and away legs against Sheff Utd showed the best and worst of that squad. Pretty much exactly the same as the season we lost to Millwall.

McCormick, Reid, Fryers, Baudry, Hunt, Conroy, May, Doughty, Twine, Yates, Woolery.

Pretty strong starting line up.

What is this for KT?

You would think that's roughly what our first choice line up will be come the season start.

Interesting to see that all 3 of the full backs / wing backs are starting.

0-0 half time it seems.  Twine close with a free kick.

Had some update come through on Sofa Soccer App....

Cmon Town.....

Friendlies organised a bit better than previous seasons but prior notice of a game like this would be good....maybe a cheap flight and a day on the piss?
