I have the full ninety minutes plus 30 minutes extra time video in black and white.
The highlights were shown the following day (Sunday) from 14:30pm till 15:40pm.
Is there any way the match would have been shown in colour.
I think the euro final in 1967 from Wembley was broadcast in colour
although the extra time was transmitted in Black and White.
The floodlights were deemed not to being strong enough for colour transmission
Would Wembley have improvd the lights in two years?
OR
Like the World cup in 1966
shown in Black and white and a colour version was released later
November 1969 was the first match in colour between Liverpool and West ham on Match of the day.
So the question is:was the game in colour in any way?

Think I've seen one of those retrospectively colour touch-up jobs.

Wasn't the match shown live on TV then? Someone might have videod it.

I remember that there were some experimental colour transmission on BBC2 probably in about 68.... Swindon was quite cutting edge, Harold Wilson's "white heat of technology, with Tony Benn as Postmaster General.... PO Tower that sort of thing.  Swindon had Radio Rentals, which created an early sort of cable TV, by stringing cables over the roofs and fences of houses within a certain radius of its Stratton HQ. This meant you could avoid what were termed as "atmospherics" climate conditions which buggered up the signal to the chimney aerial and meant a very poor reception.

Having said that, I only recall March 69 as being black and white for the Big Match highlights... it was the WC 70 that first really got colour going, and it very much added to the wonder of that tournament.... the very definition of sexy football.

I seem to remember the ITV highlights programme clashed with the 'homecoming' celebrations at the Town Hall, which I attended, and we didn't have VCRs in those days.

The full 2hr 23 min version is still up on YouTube. It's probably the same B&W version the OP has got. That has commentary by Brian Moore, who almost certainly, would have done the commentary on the ITV highlights programme. I guess they would just have edited that down for the hour-long TV highlights version that went out on the Sunday afternoon.

I don't recall seeing a later colourized version.
