Been a few years since I started one of these.

If we start like we did against Northampton we'll get battered. If we play like we did for the majority of the second half we should be good enough to pick something up.

No point really in trying to predict an outcome, we should be the new dictionary definition of inconsistent...

Not confident going in but it's a funny old time of year for results.

Optimistic 1-1.

An encouraging 1-1 (Woolery) draw of the 'point gained' variety.

Only Liverpool have lost less games than Mansfield so far this season. Mansfield’s sole defeat was against our first opponents of 2019 so we have the toughest couple of games imaginable in this division coming up.

Either a draw or we'll lose 5-0

Pre match not really feeling the warmth and appreciation in The Widow Frost.

Was expecting a spectacular display of god rays over Mansfield to support the locally held belief, in some quarters, that the sun does indeed shine out of Flitcroft's arse.
That wouldn't explain though, why a lot of the great man's press briefings sound very muffled, particularly the ones delivered when seated.

Anyway, Mansfield must be due a defeat. Why not today?

I think any Town fan would happily take a point against the team managed by one of the dullest people to have ever managed professional football, also we obviously have a bit of a score to settle with him after the way he bottled it at a crucial point when we could easily have pushed on to the play offs, Judas fuckwit that he is.

They are obviously very hard to beat with just 1 defeat so far in the league at home against Exeter City 2-1 back in September, they are the draw specialist with a 50% draw rate having notched up 11 so far from their 22 games.

Their recent League form has been WDWWWDWWW.

England U20 international Tyler Walker (son of ex England defender Des) is leading scorer on 14 goals during his loan spell from Nottingham Florists, with CJ Hamilton next highest on 7 goals. Rumour is that Walkers loan spell is going to be terminated on 1st Jan so he can go out on loand to a L1 club, too late for our game!

In games vs Mansfield we currently have a 62% win ratio and have won 5 of our 22 games at Field Mill. Our last 7 games there have finished DDDDLLW, the most famous of those being in April 86 when around 3,000+ Town fans witnessed a draw that won us the championship of this division under Macari.

They have ex Swindon players Elsnik and Preston.

Impossible to call, if we play well we could get a draw but I do feel a win is beyond us, I can't really contemplate a win TBH.

3-0 defeat in front of a meagre crowd of 4,312 boosted by 374 Town fans.

Feeling optimistic today.

3-1 to the Town.

50/1 got to be worth a little flutter.

I forgot to add Vigs and Woolery will both be out to put one over the man that tried his best to end their Swindon careers.

Whatever the score, I expect some smug, self-obsessed comments from Microwave boy in the post match interview. If we win, it’ll be of the “look at the table” variety.

Complete oaf.
