How have we missed out on a PL Club at home? If we won, we would have been a different ball number.

I'm assured we would have been the same ball number in this round, the number being pre-determined by the R2 tie.

Nah, as I pointed out a few posts back and Private Fraser explained more clearly, would have been Hornets.

Missing out on a PL club at home just adds to the annoyance.
I'm guessing that the last 10k plus home attendance would have been the P/O game v Sheffield Utd? Although selective memory might have erased a dismal failure v Headington after that.

You are correct in you being wrong for the right reason, Feb 2017.

We had a record 32,000 v Arsenal in an FA Cup tie in 1970 just after the Arkells replaced the previous shed/stand.

Our record crowd in a League game had been achieved the previous March, 1969 for a critical promotion decider against the Hornets.  28,898 saw a 0-1 defeat under lights for the new League Cup winners against the eventual Div 3 champions..

Power out. Wink

Yes. For this round, the Prem and Championship clubs get Nos 1 to 44 alphabetically and the Round 2 winners then get 45 to 64 in the order their matches fell in the draw for Round 2. So we would have had the number that Woking had.

Maybe this will help clear up any lingering doubts.  Here is the list of numbers for the Round 3 Draw:

http://www.thefa.com/news/2018/nov/30/fa-cup-third-round-draw-numbers-301118

Prem and Championship teams are Nos 1 to 44 (alphabetically).  Round 2 winners then make up Nos 45 to 64 keeping the same order as they were drawn in Round 2.  Here is the Round 2 draw:

http://www.thefa.com/news/2018/nov/12/fa-cup-draw-second-round-121118

If I remember correctly, it operates differently in other rounds. Being a longstanding Town fan, I tend not to pay much attention to the FA Cup after the 3rd round!
