Fair play to Woking. Most of their players will have to get up for work in the morning.
Ours will bimble onto the training ground . . . where ever the freck that is.
Are you sure Woking are not full time, I believe York were and several of the Conference S and N are reputed to be as well?  Just asking as i dont know!

York were full timers, but I think Woking are currently part time.

Wellens’ team selection proved the focus is on the fight to retain our FL status...there is nothing wrong with that and it’s a sensible approach. Today was always going to be difficult and we didn’t disgrace ourselves - Woking are flying in the league and there’s little between the sides.

On to Newport.

Oh do please shut up!!

I really try not to look at posts or post myself in the aftermath of defeats but iv recovered a bit.

It was frustrating today and typical of so many home performances.

The lack of striker options is killing us at the moment. we tried so many routes to goal today. long ball, crosses, triangles etc but nothing worked.

We should have won based on chances. it's far easier to be the team that sits back and frustrates than to be the one than dictates play and try and get through. goals change this and the longer it went the more the players look lost.

fair play to Woking. they sat in and worked hard. it's the cup. these things happen every year and what makes it great for lots of teams. just wish it would happen a bit less often to us.

January can't come any quicker. (or the return of woolery, Richards up top as different options)

I was astounded by the attendance today. this could have been a route to a massive 3rd round game- bet we would have found some fans then. and any without tickets would be coming out with the i used to be a season ticket holder for 30 years.

one positive. James Dunn has been fantastic this season and again today. needed another 10 of him though

Agree with this. Formation puzzling and little options up front; Adebayo didn't exactly exert himself when he came on. Two defensive midfielders in McCourt and Dunne at home set the tone, although the latter did impress. Lost opportunity as a plum R3 draw could have provided much needed funds for attacking ammunition, but used to this as a Town fan - no doubt further drama just around the corner.

Easy to argue.

We are not in a relegation battle.

We are not in a relegation battle.

If we get fewer points after Christmas than before we will be.

Actually, that's unfair. I found that fact quite interesting.

There’s one man who can claim a team who are 4 points off playoffs, 11 off relegation are in a battle to preserve their FL status.

He will step up to the plate, don’t worry

What Chang said, was that the selection, which puzzled a number of posters, was taken with the league in mind, and Wellens was probably right on that, given our drop to 18th in the table, and the need to maintain the recent improvement, back up to comfortable mid-table.

But the recent improvement is hardly built upon when you get dicked at home by a non league club.

Unless that game highlighted to Wellens the folly of trying to play a certain way with even just a couple of players that are not suited to it.

Newport on Saturday should be a gauge - they’ve conceded 32 goals and despite being 4th have a negative goal difference.

Well yeah.

We stop picking up points and we could get dragged in.
Keep winning games and we could find ourselves in a promotion race.

Kinda how the league table works really.

The first line was supposed to be a pessimistic Reg line. Obviously I'm not Reg'ing right.
