Interesting comment from the Accrington Chairman Holt this afternoon. Home teams probably wont give a crap about away fans/ends anymore.

In a landmark ruling @EFL have decided without agreement that away team should get the revenue from their travelling fans.

In an absolute shambles, the home team loses a major part of the revenue from staging the game despite paying the costs for it.

Some clubs are reliant on bumper gates from away fans with bigger teams. This could hurt the smaller clubs... hard.

I don't understand. What does ifollow have to do with away fans attending matches?

We could still benefit, at L2 level anyway, assuming that our total away support in a season exceeds the number of visiting fans at the CG and taking the difference in ticket prices into consideration?

The margin will become less should we move up through L1 to Championship level where we would probably end up losing out.

At least it will be possible to visit the club from Bletchley without contributing a single penny to their coffers.

Those that are staying away because they don't want to put any money into Powers pockets will be able to populate the away section with a clear conscience.
Those whose Power protest is in the form of only attending away games will have to have a rethink.

I don't go to Accrington to support Accrington. So tough shit Mr Holt.
Bucket collection at the away end to help cover the cost?

Oh well. Would have been an interesting debate if it did relate to away ticket revenue.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?
Crap!

The Accrington guy has a real bee in his bonnet about the EFL.  I always assumed STFC would be the only club taking a share of my annual payment for the service, logically if you extend that to individual games it would be the site being used that takes the revenue.  Has he just misread something?  I don't know what the source is.

he was meaning the away clubs keep the share of ifollow money of the away fans that stream the game

so the home club  may lose away bums on seats to streamers, plus get nothing for it.

I'd day that would help smaller clubs have money coming in every game, instead of only half the games?

guess he thinks lost away revenue won't be made up by ifollow.

that and the injustice of unilateral agreements being made by the EFL
