Just finished listening to the Wellens episode.  Excellent stuff.  Well done!

I enjoyed this one too.
RW comes across well, plus he wants to play a modern, progressive and pacy style of football (whereas Flitcroft also had a plan, but it was based on the prehistoric hoofball which if you aren’t winning is absolutely turgid to watch)  and from watching the team play after he arrived he has geared recruitment towards having a squad which is better equipped to do that. Also a reasonable balance of age groups.
He now just needs to shift those who don’t fit his style of play (Diagouraga, McGlashan) or expected standards of behaviour (Anderson) and get the required forwards in.
Overall, I’m optimistic about this season - although we do need to avoid some of last year’s traits (conceding soft goals and poor game management when we have a lead at home).

Enjoyed the Wellens episode and great that the club are up for this sort of thing now. Very much enjoying the pod but don't overstretch yourself in producing content, its hard enough keeping up with all the podcasts I already have without even more of them (looking at you, football ramble daily).

If I may have a very minor grumble, the John German singing sting that shows up in every episode always sends me diving for the plus 30 second button as its so much louder than the content around it, particularly if listening through headphones.

Duly noted on the sound but you won't see a quick fix on it as I have 5 player episodes already edited. I'll make sure it's reduced after those.

I send out feedback requests and get nothing so I do try.

Current content is purely based on the beginning of the new season and the end of the first year of doing the podcast.

It'll go down to a regular once/twice a week after that.

It's been a phenomenal first year, Rich. You should very proud of yourself.
Pretty much every episode has been enjoyable, and I look forward to them. Keep up the great work!

For someone that travels a lot Rich, these have been a godsend when in the van. So thank you.

My only small gripe is the same as Nemo’s, I’ve had enough of listening to John Gorman singing and find myself skipping it. Other than that, absolutely superb.

Listened to the RW episode on my way to work. Another excellent one.

As I've said before, these are really enjoyable podcasts that I know you put a big shift in for, which is massively appreciated Rich.

Have you thought about getting Luke Williams, see if he is willing to dish the dirt on his time here

He wouldn't. Most of the time guests know what they shouldn't discuss.

Unless it's David Prutton...

I'd be very interested in Vincent Paricard's recollection of his time with Swindon, it would a great insight into footballers' mental health. Not sure if he'd like to dig it all up again though, so I won't hold my breath

That's excellent, Rich. He comes across very honest and genuine.

I've just watched some of the highlights from that 2009-10 season, probably my most enjoyed season in recent years.
Those Leeds games, the Southampton away game, the Charlton away game. Jesus, what a season.

God yes, will always remember standing in the away end at Elland Road with my eldest singing "Can we play you every week?". Not many teams get to do that.

Reliving those memories... That was an amazing season, despite the end. I was 20, completely skint but had no qualms spending the little money I did have following us away. Great times!
