Clinical placing.

Skills evolve. Maybe he's perfected deflecting off both shins to confuse the goalie?

Brown gets a yellow?  Cheesy
This is something brought in this season, two yellows in a match and he is out of the dug out!  He could also receive a straight red if the ref deems it - possibly for swearing (and Brown does like to swear during a game!).  He got it today, I think, for kicking the ball away at a Tranny throw-in!!

As regards the game, our own worst enemies today again!  The player that frustrates me is McGlashan, looks to have all the skill and certainly puts a shift in but rarely is there any end product.  We were undone with their two goals by the pace that they used against us, whereas our build-ups are much slower.  Inject a bit of pace, get a commanding centre-back (or two) in and we'll have a decent season.

Some horrible defending there.
Horrible ‘tackle’ by the Tranmere player.

Good finish by Adebayo - think we’ve got a player on our hands there.
Two fantastic assists by Alzate, great vision. Again looks a player.

Our winner has to be one of the worst goals we’ve ever scored.

Also, why the fuck were Tranmere wearing blue?

The build up to Romanski’s goal was pretty good though.

True, perhaps worst ‘finish’ rather than ‘goal’ would have been a better fit

Bin dippers in the Merlin singing Birkenhead
Is wonderful

And "Swindle".  Not sure if a ref to the playoff disallowed goal or the floodlight failure earlier in season.  Either way, really time they moved on.

Pleased we won.  Even more pleased that they lost.  Their left back was a turd.

One positive re looking good going forward and awful at back is that shoring up a defence is easier than building an offence.  Over to you Mr Brown.

I like the look of Smith, although today he always wanted an extra touch and his passing was off. If we are going to persist with a midfield three I don’t see us being able to accommodate him and TD, at least not at home anyway.

Thought Dunne had a good cameo when he came on, tackled well and played the simple ball. Certainly don’t see McCourt getting any gamer time soon as he must be at least 6th choice.

According to the Tranmere forum, Harris (the player that was sent off) has received 127 yellow cards and 11 reds. What a proud career!

I don’t imagine he was mr popular on the coach on the way home.  Cost them the game.

Good comeback.  The Adebayo goal straight after the red before they had time to regroup was key.

Didn’t they the day Steve Vickers opened the scoring for us with his bullet og?

One of our goals in 1969 is equally scruffy and that from a forward

I liked Luke Norris's winning goal v FGR last season..... proper sexy build up, gets ball into the box, and Luke falls over in a scramash, and some part of his anatomy puts the ball a few inches over the line... slowly.

I'd very much settle for the equivalent next Saturday.

536 Tranmere fans at the CG. Why have we stopped giving out attendances? Infuriating.
