Hi
Just so you all know one of our Trust board members Daniel Hunt, who attended the game against Chelsea last night has written a piece on the Trust website about the upcoming season and current thoughts on the overall team likelihood to push for promotion.
Enjoy the read..

Good article but i wouldn’t be making a single judgment based on last night. The opposition is a million miles away in terms of style and abilty to what we will face week in, week out

Thanks for the write up, pretty much as I posted in the matchday thread TBH almost exactly.

Seems a strange game to choose on which to base any opinions.

In effect 8 changes from Saturday and a couple of unfit players is hardly representative of what we’ll put out on a matchday.

Still short of cover at the back and up top, but Brown is sorting this. Hopefully tomorrow will see the promised hairy-arsed CB and goal scoring striker he’s been on about.

Just a thought. If Brown is expecting these 2 to be signed tomorrow will they likely to be permanent rather than loans and as the loan window is open til the end of the month are there any other incomings.

No doubt we’ll know the answers before the phone in.

I read it as we'll be getting 2 more permanents and then some loans on top.

After the injuries picked up we will probably need them.

It was on squad depth though, are they ready to step in (as is now needed), not an assessment on the first 11.

Point on fitness is fair though, they will (hopefully) improve.

I'm not sure that one win at home in the first game can be considered a promotion push.....  the better question of whether the squad is as good this year as last has been done.

However many more loans we've got you'd imagine will be used by the end of August, and then we'll have a better idea.

He did say the ‘likelihood of a promotion push’. Fair question, I think.

We only need to see a fairly small improvement on last year and we’re in the POs - and this year we haven’t got Dave ‘albatross’ Flitcroft pissing everyone off.

I don't see those words.... it says sustain.  That suggests to me that you are making a promotion push and need to keep it going... and for me too early to tell.  PS Flitcroft had us in a PO slot... PB took us out of it.

PS Evans had Mansfield in 5th when he left...DF took them to?
