'No Surrender' is clearly an anti-IRA song.

It's the Marching Season in NI at the moment and it's been kicking off a bit in Belfast and Derry/Londonderry/Derry so it must be related to that.

Why you would want to sing it at a World Cup Semi Final in Moscow though is a mystery to me.

So the Welsh, when in Wales, are supposed to support England, I bet that fucking told them?

And we wonder why people have an impression of the English as being arrogant colonial twats?  Hmmm

Strawman or what. And you don't know what I said to them, so your "bet that told fucking told them" might have done for all you know.
And I am far from an arrogant twat.

nor indeed at Brentford, which was the last time I heard it live. Many years ago.

Apparently they were making heterosexuals feels unwelcome, by singing songs about Southgate 'turning them on'.

There's nothing essentially wrong with 'no surrender', the problem is more the people who choose to sing it. They could say they don't want any political chants I guess, otherwise they're saying don't discriminate against terrorists?

Isn't "no surrender" the EDL motto?

A quick Google certainly suggests they use it a lot. Surely it's no more there's than the union flag or St. George's Cross though?

Depends how much you believe someone can appropriate a saying/symbol etc I guess. I've always associated the phrase with them in recent times.

No surrender is a shortened version of the anti IRA one sung at most football grounds by the usual people.  Heard it being used in the pub last night as well, most of whom were probably not old enough to have much of an idea of why.

I was up in Glasgow last weekend and an Orange March came by, very odd.

Oh, and the RAF WW2 one got a sounding as well in the pub, cracking lads no doubt, mush for brains though, as shown by the lad who decided throwing a chair at the screen was the right way to sign off the night - he missed, it was a easier to hit it.

There may be a Glasgow in North Carolina of course but I'm guessing it's the one in Scotland.

On holiday in Swindon, something I never expected to happen in my lifetime :-)

Popped to Scotland while we were here, watching the Quarter Final in Edingburgh!  Never been to Scotland before, takes becoming an expat to do it.
