I'd rather lose tonight to Croatia than lose to France. If we get to the final we have to win.....having lived in France for 20 years I couldn't stand any more of their gloating. I wouldn't mind so much if they weren't the worst plastic fans in the world.....

tbf, it matters not a jot what the mindset of the fans is. It's the mindset of the team that has helped them do well and I'm pretty confident they'll maintain that.
What do you mean, it's got fuck all to do with "us"? You mean we've been stopping my mates wife from watching the games, which we thought is bringing us good luck, is merely preventing her from watching us win? Now we sound unkind and uncaring. Are you absolutely sure we are not at least providing 1% of the required effort and skill to navigate this thing....................

Don't know if anyone has seen this.
1966 is when England last one the world cup. If you square each number you get 1x81x36x36. This equals 104976. The last time England won the world cup was 52 years ago. If you divide 104976 by 52 you get 2018.7.
So July 2018....

That's good, just to add more fuel to the hype train: When Spain won the WC, Bacelona won La Liga, Pep Guardiola was manager When Germany won the WC, Bayern Munich won Bundsliga, Pep Guardiola was manager This world cup, Pep Guardiola is manager of Man City, they won the league!

I see it as a 50/50 game. I was surprised to see the media putting England as such firm favourites, but they're trying to create hype and sell papers/get clicks rather than paint an accurate picture.
I don't think the hype will affect the team - by all accounts they're in a bit of a bubble and don't really comprehend what's going on back here. I trust Southgate to keep their feet on the floor and help them focus on the task at hand.

So in the past we have not been burdened by the weight of expectation.Up the expectation level and create pressure on the players..."this will be bigger than 1966"...unnecessary in my opinion. But to be honest this bunch do seem a different cup of meat

As I said the other day I like comparisons and coincidences, we last won the World Cup when I was 6 months old, my Grandaughter is 6 months old this week. A good omen I think Getting nervous now TBH, the final really is in sight and by no means beyind this team.

Just remember this, when we started this competition we had Allardyce as manager and Rooney as captain. Come a long way since then.
