thought Dr Bruyne was poor tonight, Mertens not much better. made the difference.

though France did defend reasonably well.

Listening to the bbc commentators is like stabbing your eardrums with a matchstick

Nowhere near as bad as Clive Tyldesley though, i much prefer to watch England on the BBC

Massive respect to the Belgians.  Unlucky.

Nevertheless, Deschamps has a superbly organised team.  Some talent too.  Given the quality of the oppo, never looked in trouble.  Hazard looked like he was going to tear them a new one, early doors.  Faded.  Kante massive.

If England qualify, it's a different game and of course a one off.  Touching down in Florida tomorrow and looking straight away for a TV.

Hard to spot an obvious weakness in the French side, although they're extremely narrow. Trying to get one on one with their full backs is key. Too many times Belgium played the ball back into the middle of the pitch and were inevitably crowded out by Kante, Matuidi and Pogba.

Still, we have our own business to take care of first.

True, that is. Having said that I've enjoyed Sam Matterface's commentary, the best on either channel, imo.  And the risk with the BBC is always Jonathan Pierce.

I thought Belgium lost it rather than France winning. Belgian passing went badly awry at times and, apart from a couple of good saves from both keepers, Belgians were badly off target, with de Bruyne at least as guilty as Gironde.

IF England get through, out only saving grace against France would be that Giroud plays. Couldn't hit a barn door.

France were good tactically. Belgium had no plan B - they will never win anything like that

But the space he creates is very clever. Takes defenders out, for Griezemann and Mbappe.

Way less nervous about tonight than against Colombia. Think we've got the edge over Croatia but, more importantly, it's not a disaster if we lose. We've had the moments, we've had success, we've proven this young team and approach works.

Nope but they were wiped at the end of the quarters I think. Clean slates going into tonight, just don't get sent off.
