I don't mean I've been thinking that since we won earlier, I mean I've been thinking that prior to our games vs. Colombia and Sweden.
Fair dos. Apologies, I misunderstood

Don't apologise you cunt 😉 I wasn't even meaning to be negative, more hope for the best, prepare for the worst. From now on I'd agree, whatever comes it's been a success.

*unpopular opinion alert*
Stick Delph in for Dele Alli against Croatia and get him water tight on Modric. Centre of the park is their strongest area. Nullify Modric and Rakitic we probably win the game.

I've been trying to impress enormity of tonight's achievements on Ardiles Mks I & II. Happily, I think that they get it. Last time England made the semis in a WC coincided with '1st not 3rd' and our wrongful demotion from Div 1. One day, I want my boys to understand what that summer - 28 yrs ago - felt like. Thinking about it now still gets me. It fired my love of STFC.
The penalty shoot out of 1990 is, for me, inextricably linked with that summer and the start of my love for Swindon Town. It's part of me.

What makes you think Delph will be better at doing that than Alli?

Croatia were fantastic in qualifying and dogturd in the knock outs. Modric and rakitic have been shit the last 2 games. Croatia and England play like the last 2 games, we win. If both teams play to their best, we lose. I think he will keep the same side.

I just feel playing Delph instead of Alli means you're not risking having an isolated Henderson having rings run round him when Croatia win the ball back. Get past Henderson and they're in at our back 3. Modric and Rakitic have been shit against teams putting 9 or 10 behind the ball. We don't play like that. I'd just like the balance of Delph alongside Henderson with Lingard and Sterling free to play between the lines supporting Kane. What makes you think Delph will be better at doing that than Alli?
More defensive minded, more likely to stick to task. I realise I may be giving the Croatians too much respect with this opinion. Just have visions of Rakitic/Modric controlling the game.

I’ve enjoyed reading the comments made by fans of some of nearby pals who seem so riled by England’s run.

I enjoyed the England game, glad to be proved wrong about us losing, Pickford, Trippier and Maguire were immense, nothing more to add.

I'm at a one day folk festival at Hatfield House. I go every year and take the family. If we get through, I hope they have a screen there otherwise I'll watch the first 2 acts then drive to find somewhere to watch it and back to the festival. Can't drink though as driving.
