Fuck me, slow news day BBC?? Who gives a fuck if MPs had to stay in Parliament during the match. We all have (or know people) had to work late sometimes and if you're on c£80k pa then there's no grounds for complaint. Do your fucking job and stop whinging.

Btw, kinda wrong thread  Wink

That's the sort of treatment they expect to be dished out to the lower orders on shift work/gig economy, not the "professional" classes. I see Teresa May is claiming she "couldn't watch" the penalties - yeah, course. "Had about as much interest as Blair or Cameron did when they pretended to like football" is more like it. Tossers

Basically that game, we won three times.

Ahead, should've stayed ahead. Colombia realised around 75mins that in order to go through they'd have to play some football to actually score. They did this and the game settled to something more like football. The Pickford save of which was awesome led to a corner and you just knew they'd score. Even then Trippier was unlucky trying to head back over his bar. He admitted this at FTAET and put his hands up. He said he thought Mina was going to head it straight so timed his jump accordingly. Mina headed down and the inevitable happened. Hindsight but had Pickford left the initial shot beforehand it was just swinging away from goal. No corner, likely no goal as it was 90+3.

Oh well, no biggy. Was all about composure. Wasn't massively concerned during extra time. I knew Colombia would press in the first half of ET, however they burned out and England soaked it up, like a boxer easing off in a round to take them in the next. How the teams approached the second half of ET was important to me. The team that came out attacking would be the ones looking to win. The team holding back would be looking to only win via penalties. England came out and had a go. Colombia had little left in the tank as Rose went close with a low drive across the goal, Vardy nearly snuck one in and then Dier's free header at the end. We certainly weren't holding back. Alas, it was on to penalties...

A game never devoid of dirty tactics and scrappy play. The kind of game I call "lumpy football". Due to Colombia's lack of play through most of the match, England couldn't quite keep it on the ground all the time. We even had to play them at their game at times yet without getting overly drawn into their game. Harry Maguire was immense and took no shit.

It wasn't the best England performance by far but a tough game. Tougher than Sweden will be perhaps.

Pickford was great value and hopefully it shut that prick up Courtois.

A game of two very different sides ultimately. One playing gamesmanship another playing sportsmanship. I'm glad sportsmanship won over in the end. The class of Henderson going over to James Rodriguez in the bench at the end, really showed why these lads can go far. We won, we won with grace and respect, even when the other team weren't reciprocating. Hopefully that's gained us a few friends in the World Football community.

Come on you fuckers!

That's the thing though, one of my sisters is the Head of HR  Suicide and partner of a large company. She's missed loads of stuff (family events/nice things etc.) and she absolutely hates that she does, however she totally understands that the responsibility of her role means that sacrifices have to be made. When these cunts moan about it, while being paid from the public purse it really pisses me off. Part of me is glad if some of the SNPs delayed on purpose. Likelihood is though that those issues and their job in parliament is more important, long term, than a football match. More proof that most of them are just in it for a fucking jolly.

Again, #BunchOfCunts

Been out all morning, has anyone shed any light on what happened to Kane second half as he dropped incredibly deep and didn't see much of the ball, if he was playing the no.10 role it would have made sense to take Sterling off and bring Vardy on?

James Rodriguez has an extremely punchable face.....

Vardy did come on for Sterling though...

Agree RE: Rodriguez. Although it was still a touch of class from Henderson.

To be fair, it probably became more enforced with Alli nursing his injury (Kane dropping deeper to protect midfield). If anything Alli should have been taken off after we got the lead and let Rashford have a good 30mins at them. Kane didn't really 'disappear' so much. The game was full of dirty shit which, even if he was the target of, Kane kept himself out of the ensuing afters that Colombia so desperately wanted to create (a retaliating punch or whatever from England) in order to get us to see red. Credit to Kane for keeping out of that.

England clearly changed their shape to go more 'wing attack' which as you state, left Kane in a more No.10 role. In all honesty it was probably in more sense to settle off as Kane looked like he was up for it all game, composed, calm, ready to go up another two gears. Pretty much what you want from a captain. In fact, what's great is we have several leaders on the pitch. Maguire, Trippier, Henderson and Kane all showing calmness and grit under pressure. It's encouraging.

All those subs did make an impact. Dier, Vardy and Rose all went close to scoring. Dier really should've put the free header away but I think he mistimed it and it came off his shoulder. Only real gripe was, as I say, Rashford should've come on earlier to give him more chance to really run at them. Kane would've had chance to pick up the scraps.

The Russians have invited May to come along to the WC and join the party, happily so far she's refused. Happily, as I don't want her being seen to represent the country at a football match.

Corbyn would have been over by now had he been invited.

Why?

You do realise that Russia is not remotely socialist anymore and hasn't been since the early 90's....?

Remind me which party is being heavily funded by Russian cash and has ministers meeting with those suspected by Robert Mueller of being Russian agents linked to getting Trump over the line.
