Well, I’m watching the game tonight in the same bar in Kefalonia as the one I watched the Preston play off final in.

Sorry guys, we’re toast!

On a separate note, had an interesting mountain drive yesterday when the brakes failed. Grandson in the back, screaming mum in the front, and me, the swearing driver attempting to stop the heap of shit.

I was going downhill at the time and tried to slow down a bit when I hit the brakes they just went to the floor and did nothing. Roared down to 2nd and pulling on the handbrake when, luckily, the descent levelled out and I managed to stop the thing. A Fiat Doblo. Got an exchange one and, fuck me, the engine management system warning light came on. They tried fobbing me off about the poor quality petrol was ‘probably’ the cause.

Am waiting for a 2nd replacement.

CBR Cars. I’ve used them a couple of times before with no problems.

I'll be watching in the Seehaus Biergarten in Munich. The Germans do public viewing quite well. Wish I'd have been there for the Mexico game yesterday, the Schadenfreude would have been so sweet. I can well remember the hundreds of smarmy smiles and laughter when Lampard's disallowed goal in 2010 was replayed.

Does that stand for Crocked Beyond Repair ?

Seriously, though, glad you all escaped unharmed.

Probably the last time too I'd wager.

Though, I think all rental firms are a bit crap one way or another, a lack of brakes is probably the top of the list!

When could (although definitely not if we continue to play like a shite Luke Williams team) could England meet Germany?

QF if one side tops their group and the other finishes second. If both win their groups (or both come second) then I believe it pushes that out to the final.

We're paired with group H in the last 16 so one of Senegal, Poland, Colombia or Japan if we get through.

Yes sorry, last 16 =/= quarter finals. We can play Germany in the QFs or final, but not Last 16 or semis.

Many would argue ‘82.

Brazil are my prediction to win the World Cup. Mostly in the hope that it doesn’t happen.

The reality is that it’s up for grabs this year.

I would argue '82 for sure. But Danny Baker has it spot on. Brazil games are a chore with the bloody commentary.
