No. Not Ollie.

Thinking of switching from Nationwide and Santander or M&S Bank look appealing.

Anyone got experience of those 2?

Pretty sure most do a referral fee if you can find someone who banks already, and also go through a cashback site too.

Free money.

Use Nationwide & Santander,   both very good,  easy to use websites, and both pay a bonus when joining if a friend refers you.
Only downside with Santander is that you have to pay in at the post office,  which is a pain as our post office always has queues, although I only use it online and just transfer money from one account to another (when I have some !).
Both issue debit cards so you can pay for goods and withdraw cash at any link machine.

Yes. They hold my money for me.

Well technically they don't. They hold a promise of credit. Effectively an IOU.

You knew that though, I'm sure.

Not sure if First Direct still bung you cash for a switch, they did last year when I switched to them. All been OK so far, can service account at the Post Office which is good for me living in the sticks but with a post office in the village, plus the call centres are all UK based.

First direct will offer you a gift to the tune of c.£150 now, rather than outright cash, to switch.

HSBC have the best switch offer on the market at £200 total (£150 up front, £50 after a year) but that means dealing with their piss poor service for a year
