So looks like it's going to be another nice weekend, so more BBQ time!

What do you cook? We normally have the bog standard burgers, sausages, halloumi...sometimes chicken wings/leg but not very often. Also do sweet potatoes.

What different things can I cook/burn/undercook?

The standard burgers, sausages and kebabs for me.
Gas or charcoal Sippo? Charcoal tastes better but gas is easier.

Along with the usual burgers, sausages and chicken, if i have it (or the in laws do) we'll do some venison kebabs/steaks. I'll also sometimes do a marinated skirt steak while the BBQ is still heating up. Needs to be super hot and super quick and you have a really juicy steak.

I make my own pork burgers with sausage meat and a mixture of onions, chili, peppers, rosemary and sage. Delicious they are too, even though I say it myself.

Gas is bloody easy though, useful for cooking on the grill.

Still, I digress, think the smoker is going on this weekend. Probably do some pulled lamb as I've got some in the freezer already. Over the course of the summer there will be chicken, ribs, pulled pork and brisket done. Low and slow, lamb will probably with a bit of apple wood .

These are ace for smoking, last longer and burn hotter than lumpwood ( though I use that in the chimney starter cause it catches easier) :

Talking of chimney starters, anybody who uses instant light charcoal/fire lighters should be shot, and anybody who doesn't have a variant of this is a bit mad - grilling or no grilling:

We have had a (proper charcoal) Weber BBQ for years.  Love it.  Wasn't that expensive either, from what I remember.

Sausages, burgers, marinated chicken (my favourite) and sweet potato are my staples.
