Just realised I've been posting drivel on here for nearly 9 years. When did it all begin and how long have you been here? Remember some users who haven't posted for a while... Leefer, Wiggy, Doore....and others who have changed their name.... Kerry Red aka Audrey, Rich P aka Costanza, JJ aka Peter Venkman.

Since it began. Was on thisisstfc. I remember Dazza used to run the site.

And the reason a lot do not post is that the site has gone downhill. It is no where near as good as it was. In my opinion it's too 'wet' and sensible now.

I think the forum has mirrored the diminishing interest in the club itself. Apathy reigns, unfortunately.

This is my big worry about the Power years. Sure, it seems we are stabilised but his tenure has alienated a lot of people.

Even in previous years when we weren’t doing well it still felt I was supporting a special club - now it feels we are just ordinary, like all the other bottom feeders.

There are so few actual football threads on here now - Christ, I even started one about fucking Puddings ( which turned out meh at best).

For a club of our size and still 6000 odd regulars the forum should be a bit livelier.

I notice diminishing returns from a lot of forums these days.

I wonder whether that is due to them having a limited shelf life and requiring old people to move on and be replaced by others?

However, with STFC, the lack of media engagement seems to have sapped the interest of many.

I would honestly miss it if it ever shut down.

I felt huge pride when I attended the sponsors dinner once and KMac was on our table, he asked what business I was involved in.....when I answered the forum his face dropped and he made it clear he never read them and didn't like them.... Loved that!

I think the rise of twitter and Facebook did more for the decline of web-forums than anything else.

I registered to this forum when I was 16, which seems like forever ago now

Yep, and a lot of the original posters got middle aged and slowed down or stopped posting. Such is life.

It's probably not 'declined' as much as some may think it has. People tend to remember the 'good old days' as being better than they actually were. I expect that Barry might have some stats...

Whits started it, and his account was registered in April 2006. So about then.

*Edit: The earliest accounts (including Whit's) were created on 13-4-2006. Except for Barry's which was in 1972...

Actually, there was a fuck-ton of accounts registered on that date, I'm inclined to think there may have been some kind of reset.

Around December 2004 I reckon. All the accounts were reset at the later date.
