I thought maybe the cabinet was a trolley with doors, how does it get to your table then? Carried?
what Rob said. it's a walk to it job... it's stationary. you go and point!

and yeah we are mixing puddings with dessert. I was brought up on a council estate. everything was pudding. and lunch was dinner. and dinner was tea.

Differentiating between sweet/pudding and dessert is always a vexed subject.... but I'm reassured that not everything is lost to US style cabinets. Here's a seemingly reasonably traditional British company that still makes trolleys

OK they're called Euroservice, but you'd like to think they'll have a future post Brexit. Aspirant bourgeoisie, only consider themselves to have arrived when they have a domestic trolley, so should play well in India, China etc

It kind of fits in here, but which should go with Christmas Pud

It's a family tradition of ours to have custard (warm), cream and ice cream.
