Reid was one of those kids who was a bit good at most sports. He played cricket for Gloucestershire 2s and had promise, apparently. It was when he started texting his mates whilst fielding in the covers that they realised he might not have the level of application that they were after.

There is a few of them around who played both cricket and football isn’t there? The obvious one being Botham.
James Vince turned down pro terms at Reading to focus on cricket.

I was going to compose a long list of Footballers who played cricket and vice-versa but I’ll leave that to Reg.

We had an interesting discussion about this back in the summer.   I'll leave you with a question...who is the last man to play League football and 1st class cricket?

Unlike Joe, Keith is still playing first class cricket, but his football appearances were longer ago, so Joe is the answer.

Must be frustrating to good enough to do both, but not quite good enough to make a long career from either.

Ellyse Perry of course, is an international at both, and probably the best female cricketer on the planet to boot.

There was a rumour around she was pretty handy at AFL as well, by far the best woman player in the world although Sarah Taylor wouldn't be far behind.

Perhaps we are signing Ellyse Perry, our defence could do with a bit of quality?
