Considering an Apple Watch for Christmas. Anyone got one? I have an iPhone so the tie-ins would be maximised.

FWIW I have a Polar Ignite, really good running/fitness watch. GPS/HRM/Sleep tracking, waterproof, 5 day battery life in normal use, 17 hours exercise tracking. Also does some notifications from the phone as well, although it's not a full smart watch. Retails around £160 although Amazon seem to be doing them for £130 atm
Cheers, that’s pretty much all I’m looking for, so will take a look.

I've got a Garmin Vivosport and it's the fucking nuts. Battery lasts about a week and was only £60 or so I think

Worth bearing in mind it's Black Friday in a couple of weeks so there'll probably be some good deals about.

What’s the GPS like? From what I’ve read it can take ages for the GPS to work and the strap is non replaceable.

I bought a Samsung Smart Watch (S2/S3??) a couple of years ago, bit of a steal on Amazon that day. Got bored of it within two weeks tbh. Was basically gimicky for two weeks (saying to the wife "look, I got an email, look my heartbeat is such and such, look, I gotta text). Given you need to be close to your phone to get the full funcationality I found it was easier just to use the phone. Much prefer to spend the money on a decent watch personally (I love Casio G-Shock and Edifice).
Have lost the charger but given they are only £8 on ebay might just sell the thing...
...anyone interested?

So what do they do that your phone can't? Save your cash.

I've upgraded from a years old TomTom, the GPS does take a while but I'm usually stretching out and it'll be done by the time I'm warmed up. Yes the strap is intergral to the watch and doesn't look replacable.

I've gone with a Fitbit Versa 3 in the end. £180 from Currys plus 30% cashback from TopCashback.
