I do believe that railway workers still refer to the bridge as the Chocolate Poodle.

They do.I remember one of my Bemerton team mates having a nasty accident there.

I might not be down with the kids, but I know what a chocolate teapot and a chocolate starfish are, but what is a chocolate poodle  Hmmm

What was the pub called?

Always fascinated by a couple of pubs sort of down that way... Cannards Grave.

and the wonderful Tucker's Grave near Radstock.  The Tuckers was under threat of closure recently but I believe is still going.  The Cannards seems to have morphed into a restaurant.
