I guarentee I will be there first and will take a very different route!

When I return from home(!) games at Swindon I always go via Avebury, Devizes and Westbury A350 then onto the A303 at the Longleat turning then drive to the 2nd exit for Yeovil which misses out the town centre and brings you in the right end of the town.

Initial allocation gone.
You can still buy tickets online for this.

Between Devizes and Westbury do you take the Seend A 36 route or the Potterne A360/B3098 route?

20 years ago now they got relegated to the Isthmian League.... how time flies

Seend road as the less time spent on the A303 the better.

Yes my mate used to play for Yeovil 20 years ago when they played in the Isthmian league, 15 out of 19 first team players were based in or close to London back then. And it was actually 21 years ago they were relegated, 20 years ago promoted Smiley

I'm travelling a lot closer to Yeovil Saturday...

But if it was Calne it would be Derry Hill, Bromham, Rowde, over the locks, across the back road to Potterne, Tilshead, Chitterne, A36 and then A350 to Lords Hill and on 303 at Willoughby Hedge.

I take the back road to the ground from Sparkford services (McDonalds) avoid Trowbridge and Westbury like the plague..

In fact sod the traffic, avoid Westbury like the plague every time.

I remember the Chocolate Poodle

End of my village. Impossible to walk to, which meant everyone was pissed up driving home at chucking out time.

I do believe that railway workers still refer to the bridge as the Chocolate Poodle.

This is true but it depends what part of Calne you live..... The town is such a ball ache to get through, so from the north side it is much quicker to take my route...your route makes perfect logic for those on the south side.
