Samsung Galaxy S8 / Samsung Gear VR

So i'm apple through and through but i'm by no means a typical apple consumer. I got an email from Virgin with some silly offers on the Samsung galaxy S8 with a Gear VR.
Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on them are, and is the VR is any good or is in a novelty item which will sit collecting dust after a few days?

I went for that offer but with 3, after a week i am finding the S8 ok, i'm certainly not missing my iphone. you do have to wait for the VR though, you can't claim it until 30 days after you purchase the S8 then you have to wait for another 3-4 weeks for the VR to arrive.

I swapped from iphone to Samsung a good few years ago, never looked back.  I've replaced ipads with Samsung tablets & much prefer them too.  As for the VR...meh, a bit of a gimmick initially but within a week or so, put in a drawer never to return.
