 When I first started Town had a splendid isolation... pair of Bristols and Reading down the railway in neighbouring Berkshire. Other neighbouring or nearby counties such as Oxfordshire, lacked a side along with Dorset, Somerset and Gloucestershire.

 Sadly now several non league arrivistes have poked their noses in... happily 3 of them are still below us in the league, along with 5 of the more traditional sides.
