We're not doing any more rebuilding that any one else, or what we do normally.

Few years ago at Peterborough we had 7 debutants on the opening day. Most clubs would expect to bring in 8-10 new signings in a summer.

It's a complete shift in mentality though.

We do see to have a fair bit of churn, but not as much as some.

Just had this message from the club:

"Season ticket reminder. Collect your new 17/18 season card from the STFC club shop before Saturdays home league match. collect before 2pm to avoid queues."

That's very handy..

I suspect those who are saying now that they will be satisfied with mid table will not be satisfied with mid table if we finished there. Just a hunch.

I'll not be satisfied, but it's where I think we'll finish.

Look at it another way.

Can you honestly name 7 other teams that will finish ahead of us. Fucked if I can.

Same. What our last 2 stints in this league has told me is if you have a very fit team with a good defence sprinkled with a bit of quality then you do well. Even with Di Canio other than the Ritchie, Caddis and Ferry triangle our squad was bang average but we were so much fitter than any other team. League 2 is physical yes but the quality isn't all that.
In reality only Luton have a squad that make me think they may be a problem.

I've still no idea.... an opening day away win is quite a rare thing and 3 of the last 4 times it's happened we've gone up.

However, although encouraging it isn't sufficiently diagnostic for me.  The last two season's it's been the home form which has been historically poor. So for example in my time we'd only ever lost once at the CG to Exeter, but managed it easily at the start of 15/16 in the LC.

Meaning that we need to see an improvement.. not really expecting a PdC like fortress, but Saturday should give us a bit more evidence.

Good point. Maybe I've over-estimated division 4.

I reckon in no particular order: Coventry, Luton, Lincoln, Wycombe, Mansfield, Us, Exeter, maybe a Crewe or a Vale..

edit: yes Reg its far far too early to form any informed opinion, but where's the fun in that.

Is it just me that thinks Mullin used his hand for the goal?
Well, it wasn't his head

That particular clip makes it look like an og.
I don't think it was, I think it was Mullin's hand. I'll take it though.

My feeling before Saturday was that I would be very disappointed with anything outside the top 7. I still feel that way now.

Some of these players have played for DF before though and most have played this league. Is it a big shift for them or for us?
