Must be a small crumb of comfort for the Vale fans... Some acknowledgement that the year just gone was unacceptable.

Any chances anyone here will take note? No? Same again next year? Sure. Cant wait.

Vale despite being something of a basket case, still managed to finish higher than us in the league. You have to worry for a club like Vale,  who could well be scrapping with us for FL survival next year.  First became a league club in 1893 in Div 2, and have had an interesting history since.

Was Port Vale's chairman the owner? Do they have more than a couple board members?

Fitton resigned in similar circumstances because he was part of a consortium.

Blah blah blah.

I got bored of forming an argument half way through typing.

It would be nice if Power did something that indicated something new.

As you were.

Including being based in, briefly, the second smallest town in the league.

Ho Ho.

We can't even claim to be the largest place in Div 4. Easily being eclipsed off the top of my head by Barnet and Coventry.

Burslem though will be the smallest place in Div 4, unless FGR make it, population of Nailsworth being about 5,500.

Notts Co would of course have a larger population, and would assume Luton if they do not go up.

Nottingham, yes. Luton probably similar to Swindon, although I believe Luton has had a very rapid rise in the last few years.

Its not just you reg posting this but iv seen it from you numerous times, this is getting so tedious.

Its May 1st. We have umpteen players leaving and to be replaced. I keep seeing conference south etc mentioned and its a load of shite. You have as much chance in guessing where will our league position be in 5 years time as next year.

We had a terrible season. If you want to play the fact card only 3 teams in the last 10 years have had back to back relegation. Look into those clubs and try and find a parallel to us. 7.5% chance

It's May 2nd, but anyway, well done for looking up the stats 3/10 is reasonable odds against, however also proof that it can happen.

Personally what I find tedious is having to watch a side, where the reasons for its decline are pretty obvious, yet the managerment seem unable or unwilling to do much about it.

Of course, when we see how the summer recruitment looks, then it will be easier to make a judgement...but we will need to see wholesale changes of management and players, to convince anyone that if not exactly a club in crisis we are a club being grossly mismanaged, and the differnce between the two is probably one of semantics

You, more than anyone, thrive off stats and previous years records and data but you still turn a 7.5% chance into "proof that it can happen" instead of what most people would as extremely unlikely.

Relegation is tedious, its depressing, no one wants it etc etc. I'm merely saying you (and others) don't have to turn every post into a prediction of further doom when no one knows how our recruitment will go. We are as likely to be play-off contenders with port vale as relegation battlers.

Luton 06-07 & 07-08 & 08-09
Stockpoprt 09-10 & 10-11
Tranmere 13-14 & 14-15

Luton starting from the Championship.
Tranmere going from top end of LG1 to Conference in 2.5 years.
Ours is a steadier decline by comparison with last season's lingering on the brink of relegation.
