Where's the best place to park for free near the County Ground? Is Tesco Extra still 3 hours free parking, or is it easier to park in a street near? Don't really want to park in the CG's car park/fire station/st. joes. Basically, somewhere free and quick to leave from. Cheers

Tesco still three hours, often a long wait to get out though.  The two car parks in Gorse Hill are free, just a little longer to walk but easy to get out of.

Tesco's every time - just make sure you park in the right place to get out relatively quickly (near the car wash.....) Too Cool

Nearby street parking is permit only unless you park in Walcot or Old Walcot

if you want a 15 min walk then Gorse hill has a free  car park next to and also opposite to Swiss Chalet.

does have advantage of making you walk past Robins chippy (£2 match day special sausage and chips)

depends which way out of swindon you need. does get a bit busy up to the moonies roundabout by the time you get back to the car.

Merlin carpark always has spaces if you get there early enough (Before 12.30). Charges a couple quid, which goes to some charity, but it's easier to get away than Tescos.
