Pub advice -Bristol
«

We're going to watch Glos V Bristol at rugby on Friday 24th March, and then Swindon V Millwall on Saturday on the way home.
So We'll be staying over in Bristol.
I've never had a night out in Bristol, so hopefully someone can help me.
What's the best part of town to drink in ?
Is there a "pub Quarter" or anything ?
Prefer proper beer pubs
Somewhere between Temple Meads and Ashton Gate preferably.

There's a few old pubs between Queen's square and the docks. The Strawberry Thief close to Corn Street if you like wheat beers and real ale

King street. Start at the Apple boat for an old Bristolian then head downwards. Loads of pubs- I mean proper old pubs, as well as some good craft places.
Avoid corn street as this is chav central.

The Old Duke is a must if you're at the Apple / King street

Thanks for the advice.
Just street-viewed King Street, and it's exactly what we are after.
Looks like they'll do my staples of Real Ale, Craft IPA, and a good wheat beer
Decision made, cheers.

Three tuns - 78 St George's Rd, Avon, Bristol BS1 5UR

The portwall tavern - 1 Portwall Ln, Bristol BS1 6NB
