It's either a tense but tedious unconvincing squeeze into the next round against "plucky underdogs", or humiliation on national TV as we become the latest bit of grist to be served up to the "cupset" mill. We really can't win here. I don't even want to watch this on telly tbh. But I will, probably from behind the sofa, like I used to watch Dr Who when I was a kid. Well, and the Stone Angels episodes over the last couple of years as well

... and Quatermass and The Pit!

When the draw was made I was looking forward to catching up with the London Reds for a Friday evening of Town on the telly, washed down with a load of beers.

However it is the wife's brothers' 40th birthday and so we are flying over to Cork (via Shannon airport) for a weekend of Guinness fueled booziness. The flight is at 7.30 so I get to miss the whole game, which is probably a blessing in disguise.

I will be putting a few pounds and pence on a 2-0 Eastleigh victory tonight.

Incidentally, the Morshead will be there tonight with the fellow London Reds.

Think you've got a result there.

Probably not the best bit of name dropping done on the TEF....

This is the level Goddard excelled at so time for him to show us what he is made of. Jones being back is real boost and would also like to see Tom Smith in there as think we need a bit of grit in midfield tonight. Hopefully Jordan Stewart can be involved too as he has a real chance to become joint top goalscorer tonight.

True.

Did I tell you about the time I almost tripped over David Blunkett's dog at an away game at Hillsborough?

Not exactly the ideal setting for a Swindon win. Friday night away on a shitty evening, confidence low, on TV, against a non league side with an ex Oxford striker leading the line for them.

Doesn't exactly provoke thoughts of 'Swindon through to the second round' in tomorrow's news, but you never know (or do we know exactly what will happen...outfought with only one or two looking like they have the belly for it, taking risks in silly areas and ultimately being sent home without ever looking like we might win it).
