Reading the Rochdale forum, they seem like a balanced bunch. Loved this bit of a report (and he is, but probably because he's better than this league)

" I think their cult hero (bit of a showboating prick) keeper got a hand too it but it may well have struck the woodwork anyway".

Fwiw, didnt think it was a penalty, their player ran across Goddard and fell over, so no intention. And Vigs did save it. One of the benefits of a dog shit windows 10 pc, is it slowed right down when watching and he knocked it up 6 inches onto the bar.

Vigs is an absolute bellend. I would hate him if he wasn't ours.

I'm also of the opinion the penalty was soft. The guy was looking for it. Furlong wasn't happy about it and I think that promoted his bit of 'gamesmanship' towards their lad who got red.

Something that's amused me, is that on Tuesday we played with 7 midfielders, seemingly more by luck than judgement, but could Luke have stumbled on something that Guardiola has long wanted....

This from Sid Lowe...

Quote
This, after all, is the manager who said his dream was to have 100% of the possession, a team made up entirely of midfielders. One of his most tactically emblematic games was the World Club Cup final in 2011: that day Barcelona hammered Santos 4-0 with a formation that was essentially 4-6-0 but no less attacking for it. Control was everything.

“Midfielders are intelligent players who have to think about the team as a whole: they’re selfless players who understand the game better than anyone,”  said Guardiola

Maybe Luke is the genius that Power reckons, after all we can more than match the sort of comedy goalkeeper, defender mix up/leg dangling/falling over routines much loved by Pep and Luis Enrique.

Top bloke, best manager by a mile in the lower leagues for years now.

Will never get the big opportunity higher up the pyramid again though after his stint at Barnsley

3-0 win is all that counts but I'm surprised by that decision but not at all bothered... until one of our players does it and the appeal is unsuccessful, obviously.

That is a surprise.  Furlong was naughty, but he retalited violently.  How on earth that could be anything but red I dont know.

Baffling football league decision.  Should expect no less I suppose.

That's weird, but ideal.

We benefited from losing him for that game but now he's free to face our league rivals.

Always baffles me how people bay for the opposition to get carded when it's likely only going to benefit other teams when they get suspended and not us.
