Get that Pierre fella from Wycombe and groom him for ourselves instead of developing someone for another club's benefit.

I did say he changed the game and a top strike. Having watched the replay it was better than it looked live.

I'd say Jay McEverly was the last decent full back in terms of defending ability. And obviously NT when he played there. Ever seen BOO send someone flying with a tough ball winning tackle?

The mention of flint, he was never renowned for passing but winning every header, getting in the way and clearing

The sort of thing you'd like is another Sol Davis...who of course left us for the Hatters and played a fair bit for them. Sol never scored for us but could defend if a bit over robust at times.....seem to remember him getting sent off playing for Hatters in the infamous Danson in the Dark match.

Sol's finest hour was probably man marking Defoe out of the game when we drew 1-1 with them in 01/02. Defoe on loan at Dean Court form the Hammers had scored in something like 12 or 13 successive games, this was his first blank.  Eddie Howe played for them.

And the grizzle guts got booked too if I remember rightly.

If that had been in the Chelsea V leeds FA cup final (sometime around 1970) it wouldn't have warranted a mention

Actually, I don't think he actually touched him with the studs, he jumped ahead of him and "tripped him over"

See we've drawn Wycombe and Bristol Rovers in our group for 17-18. The academy sides are being drawn next Wednesday for some reason!

According to the bbc it's all been arranged around derby games to push up interest. Don't think the FA realise why it was boycotted last season at all.
