Not even a laughable transfer rumour. It's been a very dull STFC pre-season, regardless of how optimistic or pessimistic a fan you are.

Tansmedia did get the Pox thinking they were signing Obika though, which was a highlight.

Didn't Barnsley have to wear out white away shirts at the County Ground in the early 90s?

Quite possibly one of the most uninspiring pre seasons in all the time ive been following town.
No interviews, previews or anything!

Bollocks!

We've had:

EFL cup is the dogs nuts and I can't wait says Manager.

Need more faces says Manager.

Need new blood says Captain.

Then...

We won't be rushed into signings says Manager.

which basically says he's fighting an uphill battle.

survival is the aim this season. no chance of a top half finish

There's no excuse. If you can't get the existing fans excited for a new season, what hope have you got of attracting new fans? Is it wrong to be bored before a ball has been kicked?!

Probably the only one that's quite looking forward to tomorrow then, even got my tickets for Gills away. Didn't see us win a single game last season. Bring it on!  Pint

I'm looking forward to tomorrow too. Don't think a Town defeat is a foregone conclusion; Coventry have their own problems at the moment...

I don't think Oxford are a bad shout. There's always at least one team that finishes top 6 after promotion from League Two. They've brought some decent players in whilst getting rid of some that wouldn't cut it in this division. I think they'll be top 6.

The boom and bust of spending money you haven't got. Hopefully their little gamble will fail and they'll be back where they belong in a year or two.

If you look at first game of the seasons this century with Swindon then you will see the we have won 5 of the last 7 opening day fixtures when we have been at home, winning the last 4 in a row.
