Darkplace was only brilliant, for me, during my watching-stuff-on-DVD-at-3am-with-my-uni-housemates. You can guess the rest.

I've tried watching it in later years and while I still enjoy it, it's not quite the same......

Good question. My offering:

Josh Lyman (West Wing)
Malcolm Tucker (The Thick Of It)
Alan Partridge
Sir Humphrey Appleby (Yes Minister)
Barbara Good (The Good Life)

Strangely, I understand entirely... although, I think it's still brilliant.

Tony Soprano
Lester Freamon (The Wire)
Homer Simpson
Harvey Specter (Suits)
Dewey (Malcolm in the Middle)

I probably could've named five from The Wire alone. David Simon is fantastic at developing characters.

Yosser hughes from boys from the black stuff. Brilliant series and a great commentary on Thatcher's England. Hard to watch at times but one of the best bits of telly.
John cleese as basil Fawlty.
Jimmy nail as oz in Aug wiedersehen pet.
Mike ehrmantraut in breaking bad or better call Saul which I prefer

I got pissed off with the walter white character. Preferred Jessie but mike was really interesting but bcs develops his character really well. Saul Goodman is a quality character as well.

That's cool. I just wondered as it was the first time I'd seen that someone had preferred BCS to BB  Cool

Nice to hear others prefer Better Call Saul over Breaking Bad. I love the characters and pace of the series, it feels more personal.

Top 5 off the top of my head:

Malcolm Tucker (The Thick of It)
Omar (The Wire)
Dana Scully (X Files)
Rick Grimes (The Walking Dead)
Father Ted Crilly

Kim is a great character too and Chuck is worse than Tuco and Gus combined

G'kar in Babylon 5

Babylon 5 is a big pile of shit. Sorry, I'm going to have to put Tim Bisley after that (Spaced) - as in I am quoting him/Simon Pegg.
Bernard L Black (Black Books)
Detective Frank Pembleton (Homicide: Life on the Street)
Paulie Walnuts (Sopranos)
And all of the others that everyone else has - Alan, Bunk Morland etc.

Tough. I've already seen Dr. Cox, Scrubs and Tony Soprano so I'll give them a miss.

Ari Gold (Entourage)
House (House)
Jones (Nathan Barley)
Gina Linetti (Brooklyn Nine-Nine)
Captain Holt (Brooklyn Nine-Nine)

I went to look up Captain Holt and remembered how much I also love Jake and Gina from Brooklyn Nine-Nine, but decided Gina was also worth a space.
