Does Branco get a hyphen now? Along with Sendles-White and Ormonde-Ottewill?

It's a little known fact that if Toby Roland-Jones plays v Pakistan on Thursday, he will become the first England cricketer with a double barrelled name since dear old "Mandy" Mitchell-Innes claimed his one cap at Trent Bridge in 1935 v Saffas.

"Mandy" was a decent chap who was called up from his 2nd year studies at Brasenose, Oxford....just not much good at cricket. Out lbw for 5 going in at 4, in his only innings.

Well we used 20 of our own players tonight, quite a few being kids, but I can easily see this being how Wiliams will want to progress....prob a couple of loans and perhaps one more permanent, and we'll be good to go.

Firstly, Town fans appeared to outnumber the locals tonight.
Good turnout.

Took a while to work out what the formation was.
I'm going for a 3-4-3 with midfield diamond and the two wing backs pushed right up. Very adventurous if that is going to be Plan A this season.
The starting line up, as it stands, is probably first choice with toss up between BOO & Brophy.
Nathan is a class act now. Looks to have bulked up a bit as well.
The youngsters looked very good in the second half and Hylton did well.

Was sat a few rows behind a Southampton scout.
Don't think he was watching anyone in particular, but a fair bit of scribbling going on. An EFL Trophy dossier maybe.
But one or two may have been filed away for future reference.
I'm guessing Jordan Young in particular.

Interestingly Shelbourne play Leeds tomorrow evening, then have a league game at the weekend. No idea if that was their first team tonight.
Good luck to them though, contrast ramshackle old ground with Croke Park just up the road.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Did our Irish Messi play?

He did, came on in second half.
Looked a little lost, but a couple of glimpses of some good close control and dribbling.
Worth persevering with.

Not that it means much, but we had 12 shots on target. Ipswich played them last week and only had 4.

Ipswich scored 2 out of 4 but us only 1 out 12, more work required me thinks

Thoughts on Goddard? Is he the next Pritchard or the next Darren Dykes?!

More Pritchard at the moment.
An upgrade on Robert anyway, industry over fancy flicks.

It was their U-19 team according to a Dublin reporter - who is a town fan - on Radio Swindon this morning. Hodgetts also said our new goalkeeping coach was present, Paul Crichton.  Didn't he have a loan spell with us in his playing days?
