No
Longer answer: No, because we sold him for up front cash to stop us going to the wall when neither Black (willingness) nor Jed (ability) would plug the gap
Easy to get angry about it now, but better to have a club than a liquidated company holding a sell on clause to pay back its creditors...

We get 50%. Power has spent it already on coke and whores.
Is it getting tedious yet?

They allowed Spurs to buy out Bale's sell on clause for I think it was 2m and goal keeper Tommy Forecast.

Similar but IIRC Southampton initially had a sell-on then sold it back to Spurs for not very much (but enough to pay a couple of pressing bills/creditors) when they were in danger of going tits-up under Rupert Lowe.

In fairness to Saints, I think Bale was still in his left back and remarkable bad luck talisman stage back then - wasn't it a ridiculous record like they didn't win a game when he started for two years or somesuch?
He improved a little bit after that of course.

Why has he moved anyway? Was decent in the premier league for ballmouth. Surprised he's gone to be honest.

I'd rather play in front of 50000odd at Newcastle in the Championship than 15000 at Bournemouth in the PL. Huge step up in teams imo

I'd move from Bournemouth to Newcastle in a heartbeat, regardless of their current divisions
