1) The one opposite the County Ground. (Is it still there?)
2) Offshore bar on Soi Cowboy.

I'm not a fish and chip aficionado.

Always thought York Rd. was the pick of the chippies in Swindon. Best I've had was at Southend away I think, somewhere near Roots Hall. One of the few redeeming features of Southend was the proliferation of decent chippies.

1. Townhead Cafe in Biggar in Scotland, loads of awards for best chippy and rightly so.

2. Dannys Garden here in Chard, fantastic.

I'll have to check out the Biggar chippy. We've been to Anstruther twice as it also has one loads of awards and always is a big queue to get in.

Salt and chippy sauce or salt and vinegar?

Went to a chippy near the Bescot a couple of years ago - chips were almost fluorescent! Decent though.

Best fish and chips I ever had were in Aldeburgh in Norfolk. The queue to get them was huge, but they were brilliant.

Best local one (in Swindon) has to be York Road. Used to go there religiously pre match growing up!

Generally, I reckon that fish and chips taste better at the seaside. With that in mind my vote for best ever would go to Waterville, a seaside village in RoI. Fish straight out of Dingle Bay.

Swindon chippies can never really get above OK, which is fair enough, York Road probabaly being the best I ever use.

1) Some fish and chip shop off the great ocean road near Melbourne. Pick your own fish from lots of varieties, watch them cook it.

2) Petemoor Fish and chip shop, though Greenmeadow was good too.

Phillips in Gorse Hill - used to run the one by the CG. York Road had gone a bit downhill last couple of times I went there.

1. Forgotten the name but it's at the harbour in Saundersfoot, Pembrokeshire

2. Not found a decent one locally, best so far is on Upper Richmond Road near East Putney station
