I'm on the beg for some TEF help - I'm trying to find the NME edition from sometime during the late 70s/early 80s (think 81, 82 but not sure) that on the cover was a club/crowd scene shot in the famous Soho New Romantics nightclub Le Beat Route.

Anyone have a clue where to start, beyond Google? Or per chance knows?

I think the British Library and the Bodleian Library in Oxford both have a complete archive of magazines published in this country. You could try ringing them to see if they actually do (or if I just made it up)

I have an NME cover on my wall from 1982 bizarrely. That's not on it unfortunately!
Have you looked at ebay? There are a ton for sale. Do you not know who was playing etc?

There was an article on the bbc website a few weeks back about a guy in the uk who has pretty much every magazine ever stashed in a unit in London somewhere. I'll see If I can find it.

The unit? I don't think we should be encouraging that, Sutton..

I used to buy the NME religiously for years....always liked the crossword, but it's a bit like The Cricket Paper which I get these days, when done with, it's bound for fire lighting, stuffing in wet boots, or the recycling bin.

IT and OZ, I used to keep, but somehow down the years, they disappeared, which is a shame....now however, you can find the OZ ouevre on line.  Not the same mind....
