vastly over-rated, goes missing against top opponents, not even the best Portuguese player of all time

Come on he might be a cock, but there's no denying he has been and still is a great player.

He is a difficult mix of cock and alright bloke I think (see his various donations to chareedy etc), as for his greatness its difficult to comment due to the era he is playing in where being a great player often just relates to being able to run really fast and then fall over at the slightest touch so no one dares tackle you (see also the greatest goal of all time (c) by Ryan Giggs where he ran the length of the field no one tried to tackle him and many pundits still cannot help themselves over it!

He gets away with a lot of on-pitch crying for some reason?

Edit - See the BBC have gone into pure bollocks mode on the final now http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36761007

The moths were probably the most memorable thing about the final.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

The fact that they won the final without him was pretty much karma for his hissy fitted spoilt schoolgirl performance against iceland.

Made me think of Don Juan in Carlos Casteneda's books....the old Yacqui, mescaline muncher, had a thing for the moth of knowledge...

Quote
"From then on every time we've been in the mountains or in the desert, even if you didn't notice it, the moth always followed us. All in all then, we can say that for you the ally is a moth. But I cannot say that it is really a moth, the way we know moths. Calling the ally a moth is again only a way of talking, a way of making that immensity out there understandable.
