My wife works at the Ministry where the game was held. I think I might still be more excited than they were. The announcer said it was the first time Pelé and Maradona had appeared together. I hope one day they'll understand the enormity of owning a signed Pelé shirt or of meeting Maradona. Diego even stumbled around on the pitch for 15 minutes, really milking the occasion. *I'm not usually this star-struck. |

Not sure what he means appeared together but I know I have seen them on TV together a fair bit. Still a very humbling moment for any football fan though to be there.    |

Well that wasn't your average Thursday morning. The boys were mascots at the Hublot "Match of Friendship" in the garden of the Palais Royal this morning, my small boy's eighth birthday. Here they are walking out with Rio Ferdinand and Bebeto.
Selfies and autographs with Maradona, Materazzi, Seedorf, Hierro, Dida, Howard Webb... and Pelé signed a Brazil shirt for the older boy.
Decent sort of birthday celebration I reckon!
Did you give Maradona a slap and call him a cheating cunt ? Or did you feel sorry for him cos he was shot to bits on Coke ? |
